I Know I Know!

I have gotten several comments on how I am boring everyone with my blog. Well I am sorry. I am currently without a camera so I don't have pictures to make an interesting post. So to all of you I apologize that I bore you.
Another post will be coming soon.

A Little Post About My Favorite Person

I will give you 5 hints for you to guess who my favorite person is;
1. Always helping other people
2. Favorite things start with an E
3. Most thoughtful person I know
4. Beautiful eyes
5. Name is commonly preceded by "Pirate"

You guessed it, it's my cute Hubby, Jefe.
Today I was sitting on the computer doing some work and when he came home from work he had brought me a treat. A soda and a rice krispie treat. He knows I love these things and grabbed some for me before he left work. He is always doing cute thoughtful things like that. There has been several times where he will come home and have a surprise for me. Or I will come home to an amazing change in our house to which he spent hours doing.
There have been 2 events in particular that make him the best husband ever. In February of 2006 for my birthday Pete flew in my best friend from Virginia and surprised me. Not only had he surprised me with her he had completely put together our guest bedroom for her to stay in. And I mean completely. He had to bring in the queen mattress, bed frame, and head and foot board from the storage. Wash sheets and put up blinds. It was the most amazing surprise.

And then for this last birthday he pulled off an even more amazing stunt. He convinced me to hold off on buying our baby furniture so long that I was then told it was back ordered and wouldn't be available until 2 days before the baby was to be born. i was devastated. Little did I know it was already ordered and complete ready to pick up. Then while we were in Midway for work he arranged for my sister-in-law and her mom to come and assemble and decorate the nursery. He also had new carpet laid and the room painted (thanks Sue and Tadd.) So when I came home on my birthday this is what I came home to.
All of this and I had no idea. Pete is the best at surprises and keeping secrets.

I love him so much and I am so lucky to be married to him. He will bless my life and our children's for eternity. If any of you don't know Pete you need to. You are missing out on one of the greatest friendships you will ever have.
here are a few pictures to help you love him even more, for those of you who do know him.

Who Would Have Thought

So the other day I had put my hair up in curlers and we took off up North. When we got to our location and I took out my curlers I discovered i didn't have anything to pull my bangs back with. So I grabbed a twist tie from a bag and used that. It was great....And now look what one of my favorite "eye candy" designers made.
Trash Ties
I have just briefly looked over the site but I am so excited to get some and try them out. They just might be the thing that will save me from CHOPPING my hair.

Entertainment on 200 South

We live on a fairly busy street. So it's not uncommon to have our house lit up with emergency crew lights. Most often it's someone getting pulled over. One night or morning I should say a girl was pulled over right in front of our house. She was put in handcuffs and her car searched. From what we could tell the officers pulled out bags of drugs and paraphernalia. It was very entertaining to watch.
The other day while I was walking out to the garbage I saw a row of cop cars lining our street. So I peeked around the corner of our house to see what was going on. They were giving a guy a sobriety test. Haa ha it was comical to watch. From what I can tell he didn't pass the test. Then they pulled out the breathalyser and after he took that they put him in the back of one of the cars. I am guessing he was drunk :)
The best part was when they started searching his car. I could quite tell but I counted 3 open beer bottles that the officer pulled out. In addition to all the cases of beer they recovered. I tried to get as many pictures as I could but I couldn't quite get the zoom I wanted. My neighbor was also enjoying the show and she said they pulled out guns as well. I am guessing that is what the officer was pulling out of the camo bag.
I knew this was blog material and I hope you all enjoyed it was much as I did.

Super Deliquent Weigh-In

This should be post dated for Wednesday November 28th. I weighed in at 141. I have become sloppy on my regimen but I am hoping to pick it back up and be strong for the next two weeks.

Thanksgiving Josephson Style

Here in Utah the Josephson's like to mix things up a little bit. We were having dinner at my brother Blake's house in Saratoga Springs. I woke up to a call from him Thursday morning telling us to come up early and bring something BIG to blow up. Big as in a dishwasher or an RV. Well we didn't have anything BIG so we just brought ourselves and knew Blake would come up with something.
While dinner (really lunch) was cooking a few of us ventured about 3 miles from Blake and Jer's house up to a hill where millions of shotgun shells, spent bullets, and carnage of pumpkins, clay discs, and beer bottles covered the ground. Blake and Pete mixed a few powders together, duct taped them to buckets of paint, 5 gallon buckets of paint. And well it made for some great Thanksgiving fun.
I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

"No, Thanks Mom. I Can Get My Own Toys"

Cora had so many little trickets and random toys that I bought a nice little net from IKEA for her to store her things in. It's been really nice and keeps her room looking clean. Little did I know that it would make her so independent. Cora can keep her self entertained for hours in her crib simply because she gets her own toys out.
Here she is reaching in.

Trying to fit her head in.

Caught!!!

At times she can even be found swinging from the net. One day I will come in to see a large piece of plaster missing from the ceiling and Cora underneath it, I am sure.

Clovis Trip (way over-due)

All three of us (Pete, Cora, and myself) drove to Vegas at the beginning of November and from there went to our separate ways. Cora and I fly to Clovis and Pete drove down to Temecula to pack up the rest of his dad's house.
The flight for Cora and I was super cheap so we thought it would be a fun little trip to take and see the new baby Braddock Castle, Brooke and Dave's little boy. While there we did a lot of fun (window) shopping and had yummy food. Before we had left for Clovis Cora started getting a little runny nose. I thought it was from the little boy that coughed on her in church while in Vegas, but it was not. Turns out it was from her new little teeth, 2 on the bottom. Because she had to endure this painful promise and she had done so many "firsts" on this trip I thought we needed to commemorate it with a toy.
So we bought Gretta, The Monkey. She loves Gretta and smiles every time Gretta makes her monkey sounds. This is the ONLY toy I have bought for Cora and I think it was a good investment.
Thanks for everyone who was so accommodating to Cora and I. We love you and will see you back in Clovis on the 20th.

Cora's 1st Halloween

We took Cora to Nuskin's annual Halloween Party. She had a great time venturing through her first haunted cubicle aisle, meeting friends and eating the infamous caramel apple.

I thought the backside of her was so funny. She looked like a peacock.

Here she is with Emily, Jane, and Sandy from my old department. They were disco divas. There was a strobe light and everything.

2K Lounge

Our friend and co-worker at Nuskin has a cute little office that she calls the 2K lounge. 2K stands for Kristen Knight. Cora, dressed up in her costume fit right in.
Here she is sitting in the 2k lounge lounge chairs exclusively from IKEA

Only Fair

I thought it was only fair that I post pictures of my Halloween Pasts.

Pink witch? Not sure what that is about. I remember that thing I am wearing is a one piece leotard. I loved it and wore it all the time. Under shorts in the winter, under skirts. I had mad style skills.

My version of a sexy cowgirl.

Superwoman, obviously I was freakishly strong as a young girl.

Seriously, how original. I am sure Mitch, back behind me, was a BYU football player too.

5 Things for Cora (Inspired by Megs)

5 Things I Want Cora to Know:

1. Be nice. Learn from your Auntie Brooke--she's a pro.

2. Have confidence in yourself. Know that you can do anything.

3. Surround yourself with love, brightly colored paper, good food, family, and the Gospel.

4. Never stop smiling. Life is too short to not look for the good in everything.

5. I love you. You will never know how much until you have a child of your own.

PS (from your dad)
Moderation in all things.
Small dogs (and popped collars and sideways hats and other trendy things) really aren't that cool.
Use your blinker.

If you can't tell these things from Pete are currently things that bug him. I am sure ifhe was dying tomorrow he would say something else to Cora.

Beware of Falling Branches

Once upon a time there were 2 beautiful walnut trees in our backyard. But one died and it is now sprouting gross mushrooms. We have discussed several times about what to do with it. But even dead it's very very cute. It has a certain charm about it.
However last night it sealed it's fate. It's going to the chipper

And if you look closer you will see Cora's jumpin' jack toy is under the rubble.

And yes she was in it and yes the branch fell on her. But Cora came out on top. She is a survivor.

Again Somewhere In Between

I think I should start having Mondays be my weigh-in day. This Monday I weighed in at 142 and then when I weighed in on Wednesday morning I was at 144, hmmm. And then Wednesday night after a meal at Red Robin I was 147, haa haa so we won't count that one. Maybe I'll say somewhere in the middle 143, that sounds good.

Nachoooo

Every year my sister-in-law creates the most amazing costumes for her little kids. Well this year is no different. I present Parks as Nacho Libre.

This little boy is the funniest kid you will ever meet. He loves Spiderman and Jack Black as Mr. Schneebly and of course as Nacho. He is so fun to talk to because he has the craziest imagination. If you ever hear us refer to Cora as Paprika it's because of Parks. After she was born my brother Blake asked him what we should name her and he said Paprika. And for a while we told him that is what we named her so he still calls her that. It's so cute. Side note Parks is the little bother to Fischer who was featured in a previous post.

The Peter Of Halloweens Past

Pete has always been one to take advantage of the fun costume contest that Nu Skin holds every year. Here are just a few of his costumes from the past years.

Here he is as Mr. Clean.

I helped with this one. We had just started dating a little less then a week before. So it was a big step when he asked to borrow my jewelry and fairy wings. Good thing he didn't ask to borrow my tights. We went to Walmart for those.

My all time favorite. Dora. I am so sad we didn't get better pictures. He had everything right, even down to Boots hanging out of her backpack backpack.

We are all very excited to see what he will come up with next.

Somewhere In Between

Well I am now somewhere between 144 and 145. I weighed myself on Monday and I was at 144. Then when I weighed in on Wednesday I was 145. Which is weird cause I ate really well between the 2 weigh ins and worked out. But either is fine with me.

We took Cora's six month pictures on Sunday. They didn't turn out as expected. She has been a little fussy lately so she wasn't very excited about the flashing lights and all the people dancing around trying to make her smile. We still managed to get a few good ones. I will post them shortly.

Dang The No-Bake and Shmallow Corn

So I weighed in at 146 today, bummer. I let the success go to my head. However I am feeling a lot more tone this week. I started doing the "Core Secrets Ab Assault" and it's a pretty good stomach workout.
And the reasoning for my title, I made 2 batches of no-bake cookies this week. Only half batches and I only ate half of the half. But I am sure that's a good 700 calories. So no more no-bake cookies, I must resist.
A little side-note. I learned this week from my friend Jake that the Great Wall of Chocolate at PF Chang's has a whopping 2,300 calories per slice. Gad zooks. We both admitted that we could eat a whole piece no problem. That's a scary thought.
I am going to try and do a mid-week weigh-in and see if I can get back down to 145. Looks like shakes and cereal only, for the rest of the week.

Only 10 Pounds to Go

I weighed in today at 145. It's so great. I can't believe how much putting this on my blog has helped. I really get nervous about each weigh in knowing no matter what the result is I still have to post it. And that makes me workout a little harder each week. So thanks for playing a part in my weight loss.

BTW

My new fitness goal is to run NOT WALK 10 miles a week. This is very difficult since running has taken on a whole new lifeform after having a baby. It's not as easy as it used to be. I walked 3.5 miles yesterday and as soon as Cora wakes up I am going to try and run 3 miles. We'll see how it goes.

No Cute Girl Hats

When Cora comes out with me on my walks her little hands get so cold. And it's really sad. So I went to Walmart the other day to find a pair of gloves and a hat to match. The only thing they had for little girls was Dora and Elmo hats and gloves. I was not about to put that on Cora. So I took the little boy set with a skull and crossbones on it and made it girly. What do you think? The gloves are really cute too, they just have a single white and green flower on them. I will get another picture and post it.

Kids Say The Darndest Things

My nephew Fischer, who I love more then anything is the funniest kid. He is always saying 50 year old men comments to convince Pete to let him play the Xbox. Or saying insightful things to get his little brother Parks to do something for him. But the other day he said something that tops them all.
He and I were in the kitchen and he was getting himself a drink of water. There was nothing really being said and that's why the comment is so funny. He simply opened up the fridge and said this;
"I am probably the most popular kid in my class. I am not sure, but we'll see."
Haa haa haa, it sounded as if there was going to be a popularity vote at the end of the week and he was just waiting for the results to come in. What do you say to that? I thought about telling him that being popular isn't that cool and that it was cool to be nice to everyone. Or that being everyone's friend is better then being the most popular. But I put away the "intelligent aunt" front and just left the room. I was laughing too hard I don't think anything I said would have made sense.

Triathlete

My brother Blake did a triathlon on Saturday that circled our house. It was backwards so he swam last in the community pool back behind our house ( I hope he doesn't get the poop sickness :)) Pete went out and bared the cold to get some awesome pictures.

Look at that form.
His son Parks cheering him on. Parks thinks his dad is a superhero.Rounding the corner for the last leg.

He finished really well. Blake was ahead of the guy who took first when they came to the bike transition. But the guy was tricky and already had his bike shoes hooked onto his pedals. So he beat Blake out of the transition.

Weekly Weigh In

I am so excited 146!!! I still haven't taken another picture, mainly cause I don't think the 15 pounds I want to loose will really show up in a picture. So I will just continue to post my weigh-ins.
Sorry my blog has been lame lately. I promise to spice it up and add some exciting new entries.

Weekly Weigh-In

So I weighed in on Tuesday morning at 148.7. I don't have a weekly picture yet cause I haven't had the energy or time to do it. I am a crew member of Josephson DBR for the week and work from 9 p.m. until around 1 or 2 a.m. Hence the reason I am still up at 2:48 a.m. I will skip the picture this week and have a new weight and picture for next week.

All Makeup Wearers

I just learned this from my friend Lori. This makeup line ELF just got bought by Nordstroms so all of their remaining inventory is only $1. If i wore makeup I would go crazy and buy a ton of stuff. But since I don't wear any, and Pete winces when I do wear any I won't buy anything. But it would be fun!

It's time and it will be dramatic

So today I ate 6 cookies, that's right 6 Albertson's Chocolate Chip Cookies. And you know what that's embarrassing. It made me realize that I am never going to get to an ideal weight. So I am putting myself out there. I am exposing myself to the world, well not like in "Women's Appreciation Day" ("The Office" lovers will understand.) One of my biggest fears in life is having someone see me eating and think to themselves, "She should not be eating that, let alone eating at all." So I am hoping this fear of having friends and family see how I am right now will help me reach my goals.
I love to run but I always have an excuse not to. I love to walk up my hill but Cora is always sleeping or I don't have time cause I need to eat another cookie. So today, I am done. I am sick of always saying, "I am just like my dad." or "It's all cause of Grandma Jo" I need and want to be healthy and not always saying, "Diet starts Monday."
So here we go, starting tomorrow I will weigh in, take a picture of my self and post a weekly update. That way all of you Stott-family blog readers can hold me accountable. Here is where I am at;
150 Pounds

Where I want to be;

135 pounds and tone.

So please throw your worst my way. I want to hear I look bad at 150 and that I made you throw up in your mouth when you saw this picture. And then as I progress tell me how incredibly good looking I am. I am sure this will put an end to some friendship's but I warned you it would be dramatic. So there I am, exposed and embarrassed and crossing my fingers I can muster up the motivation.

Moving On

Cora is moving onto cereal. But she is not getting the job done very well. She can't quite figure out the whole spoon thing. In the previous posts I mentioned she loves her tongue, well she does the same thing with her tongue right when the spoon gets to her mouth. So nothing goes in her mouth.

And Walter waits anxiously for his turn to get some grub. He tries to by sly and acts like he is stretching, however he just get his mouth closer to the food. At one point he was licking Cora's hands and feet just to get a little taste.
Well Cora had had enough and took matters into her own hands. And this is why Great Danes are so wonderful. It didn't even bother him. He almost seemed to enjoy it!
