It all started out great. I found caramels that were little pellets so I didn't have to unwrap anything. And Pete picked up some great Granny Smith apples at Costco. 
But the trouble started when I tried to cover the apples with a coat of white chocolate. First I tried with almost bark, didn't work, then I tried real white chocolate. It was a little too thick so I added milk, well as I found out later NOT A GOOD IDEA!
I guess I was successful in giving my neighbors caramel apples. Just not the masterpieces I had hoped for.
